Independent Geopolitical Analyst

Russian Foreign Policy & Hybrid Warfare

Nadina Ronc is an independent geopolitical analyst focusing on Russian strategy, hybrid warfare, and influence operations. Her 2026 monograph for the Joint Special Operations University, From Guns for Hire to Military Doctrine: Russia’s Institutionalization of Influence in Africa – Implications and Recommendations for U.S. Special Operations Forces, examines Russia’s shift from Wagner‑linked proxies to the state‑run Africa Corps and its implications for Western policy and SOF planning. Small Wars Journal has described it as “one of the most comprehensive threat assessments of Russian gray‑zone activity across the continent and what those actions mean for USSOF,” and it has also been highlighted by SOF News.

She is a recipient of a grant from the Strategic Studies Institute of the U.S. Army War College for research on Russia’s interference in Western Balkans security and politics, with findings on Bosnia published in the Journal of Peace and War Studies, and has written and commented widely for international media on Ukraine, Russian foreign policy, and contemporary conflicts.
